Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Frances and panel discuss an Oregon case where a wife filed a lawsuit of 9-million dollars against the Church of the Latter Day Saints, the Mormon Church for reporting her husband's four year, sexual abuse of their daughter. The man was convicted and sentenced for the crime, and the wife claims the church broke confidentiality. The wife says that the couple’s 4 other children have had much emotional and financial distress not having their father and his finances. The mother says the family turned to the church to deal with the husband’s sin. Sister Frances feels the church is required to tell authorities, depending on the severity of the crime committed. Today the panel is flooded with emails and calls from victims of abuse.
