Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss a vote by the Louisiana State legislature that will ban gender-affirming care for transgender minors. If the bill had passed, the care would have included puberty blockers, hormone treatment, and gender-reassignment surgery. The vote overturned a previous veto of the ban by Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards. Pastor Gabriel Swaggart joined several other area pastors in prayer at the State House Tuesday. Lawmakers across the country have been facing such votes, after hearing months of debate over gender-affirming care blanketed in a plethora of misinformation, religious arguments, and hours of emotional testimony form the LGBTQ+ community.
