Many times Christians want the things of God, but go about getting them by their own efforts. Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss how this played out with Jacob, when he tried to get the things of God in a selfish way by getting the birthright from his father by deception; then later in his life, he himself experiences deception, by his sons. The panel discusses their previous lives, before salvation. Brother Smith says the devil wants us to live in our past. We need to know who we are in Christ. In Philippians 3:13, the Apostle Paul, through the Spirit, says I press on; as believers are to move on, once they are saved. We are called to press on toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. What Christ bought for us on the Cross of Christ, has set us free from our previous sinful lives. Satan is an abuser. Jesus is the healer!
