How does the believer keep the moral law of God? Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and the panel read 1 John 3:4, discussing how the believer can frustrate the grace of God by trying to keep sin at bay with his own efforts. Brother Donnie says if we are not careful, we will put up our own fence laws. This will result in works, self-righteousness, and transgressions. We have the imputed righteousness of Christ in us when we keep our faith in Christ’s finished work. We are no longer slaves to trying to do right in the eyes of God. Christ died for all sin; for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, has made us free from the law of sin and death. The panel also discusses the Sabbath rest the believer has in the finished work of Christ. On the Cross, Christ fulfilled the law in totality. He is our rest, and we are Sabbath keepers when we believe in Him alone.
