Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss this anniversary of the Reformation. This declaration effort, by Martin Luther, was to push the churches to break away from the traditions of religion, which at that time, they were controlled by the Catholic Church. Luther had written his 95 Theses, and posted it to the door of the Castle Roman Catholic Church in Wittenberg Germany in 1517. At that time, Pope Leo was building the greatest Cathedral ever in humanity, by selling indulgences. The priest sold indulgences, where people were buying “get out of purgatory” passes for their deceased loved ones who died unsaved. Brother Mike says the bible is clear, there is nowhere in scripture that we find this idea of a holding place when people die without God. There is either heaven or hell. If we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior then heaven will be our eternal home.
