Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss the sin nature and respond to the argument that saved people can be possessed by demons. The panel says the Bible is clear, that a believer is filled with the Spirit of God, which in no way, can cohabitate with a spirit of darkness. Jesus said, we must not have two masters. Brother Dupree adds that there is no place in scripture where we see a Christian has a demon cast out; only unbelievers in the Bible are delivered from demons. Brother Donnie says this idea comes about because Christians struggle with getting victory over sin. Believers need to understand how to keep the sin nature dormant in their life; this is when faith is anchored in the finished work of Christ alone. If our faith waivers, then the sin nature can rise up. A believer can be oppressed by spirits of darkness, but not possessed. Believing in Christ and Him crucified is the only way to live for God and find victory over sin.
