Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss scriptures that support that God calls women in all roles of the church. Looking at 2nd John 1, we see John addressing the pastor of the church, calling her the elect lady; John always addressed his letters to the pastor of the church. 1st Timothy 2:12 is often misunderstood, as Brother Donnie says the Apostle Paul was speaking to Gentile women who had no concept of the Law of Moses, and were unstudied in the Word of God. He adds, oftentimes no God called man was available to preach, or the pastor had died and his wife picked up the mantle, keeping the church going. The panel discusses the importance of Old Testament understanding of its types and shadows, which all lead us to New Covenant Theology.
