For by grace, through faith, are we saved, not of works. Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Frances Swaggart and panel discuss the free gift of salvation reading Matthew 19:16-22. The Lord told the rich young ruler to keep the commandments if he wants to find eternal life, and sell all he had to the poor. This was not advocating works for salvation. The Lord knew this man’s heart, and was confronting the man’s love for money, and revealing that money was an idol in his heart. Brother Donnie shares how good works are important, but they are not done to earn salvation, but they are done because we ARE saved.
