Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel read 1 John 4:8-9, looking at biblical love and those who do not love, do not know God. Brother Donnie says too many churches focus on helping the world with good deeds and gifts of food and water, but they are not feeding the needs of their own body in the church. The church should care for the widows and orphans within their body first, before giving to those in the world; and most importantly, must give the bread of life of what Jesus did for all mankind to save the world. Each day the Lord has fresh manna for His children to receive and be nourished by; we can’t live off of yesterday’s manna, we must seek the Lord everyday for new manna to feed our souls. The panel explains the gifts of the Holy Spirit with regards to tongues as a prayer language for personal edification verses tongues and interpretation that is a gift that edifies the church as a whole. All gifts of the Holy Spirit are equally important; God gives them as He wills and when He wills it. He knows what we need.
