Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss physical and verbal abuse within a marriage and what God says about it, and does abuse warrant grounds for divorce. Biblically, divorce is allowed when there is fornication or abandonment; at times, abuse can fall into the category of abandonment. We must seek God’s will, for every marital situation is different. The panel explains the role of women in church ministry, and why it was so different in the early church, regarding order. The panel discusses how women in the Southern Baptist organization cannot be ordained in the role of senior pastor or teach biblical courses in higher education. Brother Donnie says the Bible is clear, if there is not a man able to be the senior pastor and there is a woman who is called, then God approves.
