Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss Mark 11:20-21 and the parable of the fig tree and how it represents Israel. While the fig tree looked beautiful on the outside, as if it had fruit, it did not. The tree was barren, and Jesus cursed it and it withered; representative of the destruction of Israel in 70 AD. Dr. Gray asks, what is an application for this parable today? Brother Donnie says it’s representative of the church today. It’s outward appearance looks as if it has a lot of lush leaves in it’s programs and such; but there is no fruit, where souls are actually being saved. The panel discusses James 2:2-24, and how the born again experience produces an ordered life, and there will be fruit. Brother Smith reminds that works do not produce proper faith, but faith will produce proper works. Discussing current events, the panel says we need to know the difference between the truth and propaganda. Brother Brown says we need to be aware of the antichrist spirit infiltrating America.
