God gives gifts to the body of Christ for a purpose. Today on The Generation of The Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart is joined by JSBC professors Paris Ragan and Dr. David Watts. The panel discusses how commentaries, study bibles, and written works from Christian believers help others in their study of the Word of God. Brother Ragan says these are gifts, and the Holy Spirit can work through these gifts to help the believer gain knowledge. Pastor Gabe shared how his grandfather came to his understanding of the sin nature, studying from Calvinist Kenneth Wuest, and his writings from Romans 6. Brother Ragan adds that of course the number one necessity to understanding the Word of God is having the anointing of the Holy Spirit, but studying other’s theological writings has proven that scholars can also gain wisdom learning the principles of faith from other faithful men of God that God has gifted in certain areas.
