God wants to equip every believer; as He has called every single Christian for a specific function. Today on Generation of the Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart is joined by JSBC Professor David Watts, studying Ephesians 4:12-13. Dissecting the word, equipping; Dr. Watts says in the Greek, it regards mending broken bones or setting nets. So equipping, or putting right the work of the ministry has a responsibility to mend people, or to make them useful and mature them for the ministry. A person needs to be mended, but not speaking of perfection. Sinless perfection does not exist, and if it were required, every believer would be disqualified; however, Pastor Gabe says there is a level of maturity, of mending, of being equipped, being perfected; all these things work together for the edification of the body.
