BEING FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT- Today on The Generation of The Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart is joined by JSBC Professor Dave Watts reading Ephesians 5:18 as they discuss what it means to be Pentecostal. Pastor Gabe says, he believes very little, or nothing, can be done for the cause of Christ, without the infilling power of the Spirit, i. e., the baptism with the Holy Spirit, which is a second subsequent work in the life of a believer. No doubt a person might build a good work, or maybe build a church and establish themselves, but without the leading of the Holy Spirit, without the anointing, and moving of the Holy Spirit upon a person’s ministry and life, then little can be done for the cause of Christ, because relying on self will be woefully inadequate. Pentecost is not just a theology that’s based on what you read. It’s something you experience. So you can believe in Pentecost, you can teach Pentecost, you can say, I know it’s for today. I know it’s real. But if you don’t speak in tongues, you’re not a Pentecostal. It’s a unique theological, and experiential phenomenon known as speaking in tongues.
