Today on The Generation of The Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart is joined by JSBC Professor David Watts. Reading Galatians 5:22-23, Pastor Gabe teaches us to understand the fruit of the Spirit is singular “fruit" because we are to grow in the gifts equally. Looking at love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance, these fruit are of the Holy Spirit. We grow as believers when we are led by the Spirit, and we can only be led by the Spirit by making the Cross the object of our faith. Unsaved we deserve eternal damnation and separation from God, but we have been reconciled back to God when we believe on what Jesus did at Calvary. We can have all the fruit of the Spirit because our name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
