How would you describe a great church service? Would you find the Holy Spirit melding with the teaching of the Word of God, and His presence showing God’s stamp of approval? Today on The Generation of the Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart is joined by JSBC Professor, Reverend David Watts. The two discuss the difference between a topical church message and an expository sermon that gets into the text of scripture. Brother Watts says people are hungry to learn the Word of God. Pastors must teach scripture so its meaning enlightens the hearer to know what God wants them to learn. The two discuss the moving and operation of the Holy Spirit as well; and how every service must have both to be effective in the work of God. Brother Watts says we will have the community with others for service, a corporate worship,(koinonia) along with the (kerygma), the proclamation of the Gospel. The two continue in their teaching of predestination and some erroneous thoughts, regarding whether it is the person that is predestined, or is it the plan of God that is predestined? We must know this inheritance of every believer written about in Ephesians 1:11-14.
