The Psalmist writes this as a sheep, who is need of a shepherd. The role of the Pastor is one of being a shepherd, as there is leading, correcting, and defending of the people. Pastors are constantly with their people teaching, preaching, and exhorting. Spiritually, a pastor should smell like his sheep.
