When God calls someone, there must be a response. Today on The Generation of The Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart is joined by JSBC Professor Dr. David Watts, and Power House Pastor Jonathan Steele. Reading Ephesians chapter 4:11-16, the panel discusses the call of God on a believer’s life whether it be an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher. These roles are for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. While the Apostle Paul here sets the foundation of the church with these five fold callings, Brother Gabriel says these are not the only callings of God on the lives of believers. In the role of the Apostle, the Holy Spirit will guide the church through doctrine and direction and the general thrust of the moving and operation of the Holy Spirit. Man cannot establish the office they operate in, but they can recognize it. Brother Gabe says if God hasn’t called you and equipped you, it is a useless title given only by self or man.
