A believer’s righteousness cannot be earned. Today on The Generation of The Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart is joined by JSBC Professors Adam Denoon and Dr. Dave Watts. Studying Ephesians 1:19, the panel continues to discuss our righteousness that is given unto us when our faith is anchored in the Cross of Christ. Believers must understand that our everyday life and living is not to focus on self. The Apostle Paul taught there is no greater power to live righteously than that which the power of Christ offers, and is living inside every one who is saved by the blood of Jesus. Pastor Gabe says all believers should trust on the power of God to overcome the sin in their lives. Dr. Watts says correct faith results in a contrite heart towards sin, and a softening to repent unto God and draw nearer to Him. When we fall short, thank God for His grace, that He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin, removing our carnal mindset, and teaching us how to live in a Spiritual mindset as He is completing a good work in us.
