Today on Insight, Josh Rosenstern discusses the internal pressure building in Israel’s government. Judicial reform legislation is causing polarization within, and with other nations of the world, as well. Protests of enormous size are breaking out over the Reasonable Law legislation bill’s passing 64 to zero. Since Israel’s formation in 1948, basic laws have been put in place so Israel develops under a system of checks and balance. The Reasonable Law involves a debate over power. The Israeli government, is a parliamentary system made up mostly of conservatives, along with President Netanyahu. The bill would protect the governing body, so a judge could not easily overturn the legislature’s decisions.
