Imagine making $25 dollars an hour and not working. Today on Insight, John and Josh Rosenstern discuss unemployment concerns since COVID, as many people are not returning to work because of the bonus unemployment benefits. Brother Josh says these enhanced unemployment payments are making it possible for individuals to receive an extra three hundred dollars a week in federal funds, thus, getting paid to stay home. UBI is a Universal Basic Income given by the government every month for those who are under a minimum income that would qualify for these different “income credits”. Brother Josh says don’t fall for what the government wants you to think is income; it’s basically the government pre-funding a credit for next year, this year. Brother John says the government is subsidizing people to stay home, which is hurting smaller businesses which are the primary employers. The only companies benefitting are big businesses. Brother Josh says what is staggering, these financial payouts are as much as a person would make in a career position. One study shows that in nineteen states a family of four with two unemployed parents can receive the equivalent to a salary of 100-thousand dollars a year.
