Today on Insight, Josh Rosenstern discusses ethics in the practice of medicine with regards to abortion. The Supreme Court is hearing the cases of the FDA verses the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, and the Danco Laboratories verses Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine have been consolidated. Rulings are expected to come this summer and will greatly affect our medical and healthcare systems regarding the medicines used for chemically induced abortions. The drug, Mifepristone, is a progesterone blocker and is used to prevent a viable pregnancy from happening. One-third of America’s abortions currently occur through the use of this drug. Brother Josh says a successful abortion means a baby dies. The oral arguments are discussing setting restrictions based on how far along the woman is in her pregnancy and that the woman has to see a doctor in person to be evaluated on how far along the pregnancy is. Brother Josh says this medication should not be prescribed via virtual-appointments.
