Today on Insight, John and Josh Rosenstern discuss a potential ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, proposed by the Biden Administration to the United Nations. Phase I of the agreement includes an immediate, full, and complete ceasefire with the release of any living hostages and any remains of deceased hostages. There would also be a withdrawal of Israeli forces in the Gaza and an increase of humanitarian aid distributions. If this is agreed upon, all Palestinians will be able to return to their homes. There is a second phase, which includes a permanent agreement, with any additional hostages returned, and all of Israeli forces retreat completely. In Phase three of the agreement, a multiple year reconstruction plan will begin in Gaza, and there must be no Gaza territory reductions going to Israel.
