Today on Insight, John and Josh Rosenstern discuss new legislation passed in Kentucky where all gender affirming medical care for trans youths is to be banned. The new legislation will also prohibit conversations for students in all grades regarding sexual orientation or gender identity on school grounds. School districts must forbid trans students from using restrooms that they identify with, and it will allow teachers to refuse to use the pronouns that a student identifies with. The Senate bill was vetoed by the Governor, but was override by and the House and Senate and made law. Gender affirming medical care will be phased out later this summer, where doctors will be required to detransition minors who are in their care for transitioning treatment.
