24-Dec-2025
Today on Insight, Josh and John Rosenstern reflect on a December 24th, from years gone by of the great Christmas truce of World War I. It was Christmas Eve, in 1914, during this time of war, when the German soldiers and allied forces were engaged in deep trench warfare. On this night, the German soldiers began singing Silent Night; then, some of the soldiers on one-side, in the area of No Man’s Land, said we have laid down our weapons as the dawn approached on Christmas Day. The other side agreed to do the same. They gathered their dead, and then played a makeshift game of kickball for the rest of Christmas Day, as their fighting had ceased. Brother Josh reminds us that the only answer for lost mankind is Jesus. He shall save His people from their sin, and this is why we celebrate His birth.
