ABIDING IN THE VINE- Today at Resurrection Camp meeting, Pastor Loren Larson preaches from John 15:1-5. Jesus’ death at Calvary has allowed the Holy Spirit to live in us. When we don’t see fruit in our lives, we must ask, are we abiding in the vine? God wants us to know some things; learning can sometimes be painful, for He is a God that delights in resurrection. He brings us through trials and circumstances so the believer will have bread in a time of famine. When our knowledge is correct, we can have His provision and walk in the power that He provides. God saves us and then expects us to learn about our salvation. The message of the Cross is helping to tear down the exclusivity that we see in the denominational churches and Pentecostal churches as well. The Lord wants this message to go out to all. John 14, 15, and 16 teaches the foundation of the faith of the believer that there is a divine entanglement that we are equipped with at salvation and we have His power living inside us. We don’t want one or the other, but both. He is the true vine that we abide in; this is the way of the New Covenant. God will chastise us and prune what should not be in our lives; He wants our faith right. When we abide in Him, and He in us, then all the benefits of the New Covenant can be ours.
