I CAN HEAR THE SOUND OF AN ABUNDANCE OF RAIN- Tonight at Resurrection Camp meeting, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart preaches from 1 Kings:18:41 where Israel was in great sin. The great prophet Elijah was sent to the Northern Kingdom of Ahab; after a three and a half year drought. This dead and dried up land was as the spiritual condition of Israel, with its 400 Prophets of Baal. The Lord told Elijah to repair the altar; the altar was a type of the Cross. The church must come back to the Cross for the Holy Spirit to do His work. When the altar is repaired the rain will come. Brother Swaggart prayed for all in the service to be healed in the name of Jesus. Israel began 4,000 years ago, Brother Swaggart says when she finally occupied the Promise Land she was the only monotheistic nation. She was for a short time the shining light in the world before she lost her way. America, like Israel, is losing her way. The church must come back to the Cross of Christ, for it is the foundation of the gospel, without it there is nothing else. Brother Swaggart says we must forever know all salvation, forgiveness of sin, divine healing, and victory comes through the Cross. Our faith is in Christ and Him crucified; He died to set the captive free.
