THE PURPOSE OF CALVARY- At Calvary, the bondage of sin was destroyed. Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Donnie Swaggart preaches from 1 John 3:8. Looking back in history, following World War I, Brother Donnie paints a picture of Berlin; a city of starvation, inflation, and poverty, but gradually things began to turn around. By the 1930’s, Berlin rebounded way ahead of many large U.S. cities. He looks at the intelligencia of Germany in 1942, coming up with the evil "final solution” where 6.5 million Jews were murdered at the hands of these “brilliant" men. Three percent of the world’s population died in WW II. Brother Donnie reminds us that sin is at the core of all evil and heartache. We see today, drug addiction on the rise, gangs, and pedophilia; man’s mind has been diluted from sin. Christians are the only thing holding America together in this time of great darkness. Sinners are bound for hell; believers must get the gospel out. The only answer is Jesus Christ. He has the power to loose the chains that bind us. He came to die to save mankind and destroy the works of the devil. He did it openly to break Satan’s grip. Thank God for the blood! Calvary is victory!
