A FATHER AND TWO SONS— God will restore those who are lost back into His family, for God so loved the world. Today Pastor Don Paul Gray preaches on the ministry of reconciliation, reading from Luke 15:1-7, 11. Pastor Gray paints the picture of the prodigal son that returned home and was greeted by his father’s love. Brother Gray says we see, in this story, that the elder son, who didn’t leave home, is actually farther away from his Heavenly Father. He was angry at his earthly father’s celebration of the younger brother’s return; the elder, is the one, now needing to return home. Brother Gray lays out the love of God in the father’s welcome to the lost son; offering open arms, gifts of a robe, a ring, and new shoes. This typifies how God rushes to forgive us, for His love is rich in mercy.
