THE VISION OF THE LAMP STAND AND THE OLIVE TREES- Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Dave Watts teaches from Zechariah 4:1-14 offering hope to the oppressed. Brother Watts says when the Jews were returning from exile from Babylonian activity they needed the Holy Spirit’s guidance to restore the temple. The two olive trees along either side of the lamp stand fueled the illumination in the temple. Brother Watts likens the flow of oil to the lamp getting clogged to that of sin in the believer’s life hindering the anointing of the Holy Spirit. God uses ordinary people who will allow the anointing of God to fall and guide our lives. Brother Watts says, what clogs the flow of the Holy Spirit in a believer is gossip, jealousy, temper, lying, bitterness, and lack of faith. The believer already has victory over these things when their faith is anchored in the Cross of Christ. Let the Spirit move and walk in the victory that has already been provided at the Cross.
