A MEMORIAL BEFORE GOD - Tonight at Family Worship Center, with this being Memorial Day weekend, Pastor Jimmy Dupree recognizes all those who have given their lives for our freedom, and he reminds us that the most important memorial of all is that of Jesus Christ on Calvary’s Cross. We must not forget what God has done, because if we do then God cannot do what He wants to do in our lives. Reading Acts 10:1-4 he shares the life of Cornelius; and as a Centurion, who was put over one hundred to a thousand soldiers in Rome, he was to keep control in the region. Centurions were put on the frontline of battle because of their bravery, loyalty, character, and ability to fight. Cornelius, was a Gentile, a Roman soldier, viewed with prestige and authority by many, but hated by the Jews. God saw his consistency in his walk of faith. He feared God. Brother Dupree asks, are we a Cornelius, willing to live for God? Do we respect who God is? God deserves a holy reverence; our character should reflect what we believe, and that is the finished work of Christ. When we have anchored faith in Him, then our transformation will give God all the glory.
