SAVED TO SERVE- Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Mike Muzzerall reads Joshua 9:1-23 and Deuteronomy chapters seven and twenty teaching on how a group of condemned Gentiles were not killed, as God commanded. Joshua, a servant of servants, allowed the Gibeonites to live even with their pathetic surrender. Not only were they allowed to live, but also their punishment granted them access to the Temple of God, and they were given duties to bring in water and wood for the sacrifices. They were now Temple servants. Pastor Mike makes it clear, they were not saved through their service, but they were saved to serve. When we come to Christ in our pathetic state, He forgives us, just as the Gibeonites. Servitude is not to be as a work, but a true heart’s desire for every believer who seeks the Lord in truth. Faith in the finished work of Christ, allows the Holy Spirit to reveal to us what His plan is for our lives.
