IS THERE NOT A CAUSE? Goliath taunted Israel, in an effort to expose her. Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Jonathan Steele preaches from 1 Samuel 17:22-29, comparing Goliath in this story to the world, and Israel, to the church. Pastor Jonathan says Goliath tries to strip away the confidence of Israel and exposes her fear. David in his anointing saw Goliath for what he really was and showed no fear when he slew him with just one stone. David was seeing the circumstances before him with a spiritual eye, and not a physical one. The church today must do the same when seeing the evil effort of the world to try and come against the ways of God. They are trying to create fear in the believer. Believers must stand in the gap, as the world is daring us and aiming for our children. These evil motives, just as Goliath’s, are in opposition to the things of God. Christians need to open their eyes, and answer the question, “is there not a cause?” Before all things, we must put the gospel first
