AN ADULTEROUS HEART- If Satan can destroy a home, he can destroy a nation. Today at Family Worship Center, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart reads Matthew 5:27-30 as he addresses the Christian roles of the husband and wife. Believers must be sin conscience and know the seriousness of unconfessed sin. While the seventh commandment in the Old Covenant proclaims the sin of physical adultery, Jesus, in the New Covenant addresses emotional adultery, which is even the thought of committing adultery. Pastor Gabe says in today’s society, social media has introduced more opportunities than ever to carry on an emotional relationship with someone who is not one’s spouse. In God’s eyes, this is adultery. Men are called to be the spiritual leaders of their homes according to God’s Word, and the woman is to submit, honor, and respect her husband as he submits to God. We must be careful, as Satan tries to deceive on the back of unhappiness, boredom, and loneliness; then, we look for happiness, appreciation, and validation in someone else. Only faith in the finished work of Christ can allow the Holy Spirit to work in a marriage so that both can deny self and live out a victorious Christian marriage as God created it to be.
