THE PLAGUE WAS STAYED- Today Brother Swaggart preaches from 2 Samuel 24:18-25, sharing the story of the National Census under the orders of King David and carried out by his Commander and Chief Joab. Brother Swaggart shares how Joab played a big part in furthering God’s Kingdom, as he oversaw the army of Israel; but Joab, may have died, not knowing God. Brother Swaggart says King David was convicted by the Holy Spirit when the Census was taken, without collecting a shekel of silver for every man counted, as was required. Brother Swaggart likens this to any believer who hears the Gospel, but ignores the Cross. When King David realized his sin, he offered a sacrifice to the Lord, and the plague was stayed. A sacrifice is required for sin; Christ’s blood cleanses from all sin, and it is life that is given in return.
