Embracing anything other than the finished work of Christ will result in failure. Brother John says this was the draw of the law of old; and under the New Covenant of today, so many people are disinclined to hear the truth because they want to lift up self-efforts; not submitting to the righteousness of God is the root of all man’s problem, this is the sin of pride. Man must humble himself and accept the finished work of Christ for all sin and failure. This is when the Holy Spirit will go to work on our behalf, leading us into a victorious Christian life.
