When we place our faith in the finished work of Christ alone, He will give us victory in this life over the world, the flesh, and the devil. No other way will work. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin. When our faith is correct, the sin nature is dormant. But the Lord allows the sin nature to remain within the believer; if our faith ever becomes misplaced, the sin nature can rise again in the believer. The Lord allows this to direct us back to Him through our trials and circumstances. Our spiritual growth is tied directly to our faith in Christ and Him crucified.
