God awards righteousness based solely on faith in Christ's finished work on the Cross. Today on The Message of The Cross, Brother Swaggart and panel discuss justification looking at Romans 4:1-5. Justification comes by simple faith in the Redeemer. Brother Swaggart says God is not opposed to good works, but they are in no way required for Salvation. We cannot work our way to heaven and earn merit with God. Brother John reminds there is nothing we can do to save ourselves, and those who are doing good works to be justified will only bring about the curse of the law. The only boasting is of the Lord, as all proper works come into the life of a believer by the moving of the Holy Spirit. This is imputed righteousness.
