Jesus commanded His apostles to stay in Jerusalem and wait to receive power from on high. In Acts 8:4, believers were scattered abroad; they were filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and this gave them power to preach the Word and spread the gospel. Brother Larson says this is how the New Testament church was built. Brother Swaggart encourages us that when our faith is anchored in Christ’s finished work, the Holy Spirit will then do His office work in our lives; everything will change.
