We begin with the Spirit and we continue in the Spirit. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 3:3. Once a man is born again, he is already sanctified. We cannot sanctify ourselves. The Apostle Paul was correcting the Galatians who were trying to do just that. As we have received Christ Jesus, so we must walk in Him, by faith alone. Christianity is not about goal setting. Today’s church is much like the early church where self-efforts are mistakenly used to get victory over sin. Christ broke the power of sin at salvation; we are saved, sanctified, and justified when we are united with Christ. While sin shall not dominate a believer’s life, we must not be confused when sin presents itself occasionally in a life. By faith, the Holy Spirit will continue to give victory in a believer’s life; over time, our condition is brought up to our position in Christ, all because of the finished work of Christ on the Cross.
