The Law of Moses could only show a man what he was, but it could not change a man's heart. Everything about the Law pointed to Jesus Christ. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 3:21, discussing how the Old Covenant sacrifices of bulls and goats could not take away sin but it atoned for it. Under the old contract, the believer did not have regeneration, but under the New Covenant the old contract was completed. The death of Christ on the Christ made the way for the Holy Spirit to live inside the believer. Christ's promise provides what the law never could; He came and fulfilled the law in totality for the believer to be able to live a victorious Christian life. Today, the believer must learn how to put aside all self-efforts and works of the flesh, and then rest in the finished work of Christ; whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
