Where there is sin, the Holy Spirit cannot work. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss instant and progressive sanctification. The believer has a load that only God can lift. Once saved, the believer must then anchor their faith in the finished work of Christ, then and only then can the Holy Spirit work on our behalf to make us into the image of Christ; this is the result of being in proper covenant with the Lord. We cannot work out our own righteousness. Grace is the goodness of God doing for us what we cannot do for ourselves. When we operate in His grace, then the peace of God will prevail and give us a heart of gratitude.
