God requires perfect righteousness; this can only be imputed to us through our acceptance of Christ's finished work on Calvary’s Cross. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss the decree of Christ under the New Covenant compared to that of the law of the Old Covenant. Christ’s law raises the bar of righteousness; Brother Larson shares how when man tries to live by his own laws, the bar of righteousness goes down. This is called walking after the flesh and is the opposite of walking after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, has made us free from the law of sin and death. We are not to commit ourselves to an action or religious activity that appears pleasing to God; we must commit our faith in Christ’s work at Calvary and the Holy Spirit will produce the things of God in our lives, bringing forth fruit unto God.
