Satan uses men, to lie and deceive, but the Cross of Christ will solve all his scheming. Spiritually, we cannot grow, unless the Holy Spirit is doing the work in us by the grace of God. Our faith must be anchored in the finished work of Christ alone to see this transformation in our lives. We cannot live for God outside of the Cross of Christ.
