Carnally minded is a mindset that believes we can live for God under our own power and fleshly efforts. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss how faith in Christ’s finished work is the only way we can keep the sinful nature subdued. As believers, sin is not to have dominion over us. Many Christians don’t realize they are doing good things for the wrong reasons. We cannot gain victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil by self-efforts; while praying, tithing, and going to church are good things, these are the result of faith in Christ and in no way earn us victory over sin. The only righteousness that God accepts is what Jesus did on Calvary’s Cross. When we believe on Him, His righteousness is imputed to us and the power of the Holy Spirit will change us into the image of Christ.
