Today is the National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, when Japan attacked the Hawaiian base of America’s Pacific Fleet, killing more than 3,000 service personnel and civilians. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss justification by faith. The covenant of Abraham is eternal, and cannot be broken. God's promise to Abraham came before the Law of Moses. The Apostle Paul was teaching the early believers, including Peter and Barnabas, the importance of the Abrahamic Covenant and how the law was fulfilled in Christ’s death, a New Covenant. They were to put the law of Moses aside, therefore not thinking of Abraham being righteous by the law, but by faith alone. Anything not of grace and faith is law; we cannot establish our own righteousness by self-efforts. Righteousness is imputed to us when we believe on the finished work of Christ.
