The message of the Cross is for the sinner, and for the saint. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 5:5 discussing the role of the Holy Spirit before and after the death of Christ. The Holy Spirit was limited in the Old Covenant because He could not live inside of man because the blood of bulls and goats could not atone for sin. But with Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary’s Cross, sin was atoned for once and for all; then the Holy Spirit could live inside of man and lead and guide them into the righteousness of God. The Cross of Calvary made the Age of the Spirit available. When Christ is lifted up as the Savior to the world, then the Holy Spirit can reveal His truth to humankind. The Holy Spirit will bring forth righteousness in a life when the believer yields to, and relies on, the finished work of Christ.
