There is no saving faith in water baptism; we are saved by faith alone. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the baptism of Jesus Christ by John the Baptist, which showed forth His death, burial, and resurrection just as it represents for believers today. Water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are not sacraments but ordinances of the church. Water baptism is an outward testimony of what has already happened within; this being a heart that has already repented of sin and said yes to Jesus as Savior. Discussing the Lord’s Supper, we are reminded of the words of Jesus, this is my body, which is given for you; this do, in remembrance of me.
