There is no power in man to deliver himself. It can only be by simple faith in the finished work of Jesus to deliver man from sin and its power. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the wrong teachings of water baptism. Sin is not taken care of with water, as water baptism does not save. Water baptism is a symbol of what has already happened to us internally when we give our heart to the Lord. This immersion into water represents how we are immersed into Christ's death, i.e., crucified with Christ, and when we are raised out of the water it represents us being resurrected with Him. Whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. We are His workmanship.
