Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss water baptism with regards to incorrect beliefs and practices of infant baptism through history to today. Religious persecution came to many early American Christians who would not agree with infant baptism. Brother Swaggart says infant baptism has a long and bloody history. Christians left England to come to America because they were being forced to worship God in a certain way. Rhode Island was the first location where religious liberty took hold in 1638. There is no regeneration in water; and there can be no salvation for an infant or young child who cannot take their own accountability for their faith in Jesus Christ, which is the only way to salvation.
